New Work: NFL Brazil by Luisa Dörr

Invited by the NFL, Luisa Dörr traveled across Brazil to photograph the faces of those shaping American football in the country. The project was born from a urge to bring to the spotlight the people and stories behind the sport, beyond the field.

Using portrait as a narrative tool, Dörr documented social projects, regional rivalries, women’s teams, and the many ways American football has become part of people’s lives across Brazil. The photographs were unveiled in the exhibition “A gente também joga”, featuring 42 pieces that capture the real passion for American football in Brazil. The campaign continues, with the aim of further sharing the stories of those who are part of this growing narrative.

Strengthening this partnership, Dörr was also responsible for documenting the NFL’s first-ever game in Brazil in 2024: a memorable match between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers, immortalizing the energy of that historic moment. She also covered the league’s second game in the country, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the LA Chargers, marking another chapter in the NFL’s expanding presence in Brazil.
