NEW WORK: ‘BULLET MACHINE’ by LA PELE
La Pele’s latest work calls out a harsh reality: in Mexico, a journalist or a member of their family is attacked every 14 hours simply for telling the truth.
In this spot, created by GREY Mexico for ARTICLE 19, a non-governmental organization dedicated to defending the right to freedom of expression and access to information worldwide, writing becomes a matter of life and death.
Titled “Bullet Machine,” the film follows Ernesto, an investigative journalist working late at night, as every keystroke he types turns into gunfire against his own home. While his wife and daughters try to protect themselves from the attack, the piece transforms the act of reporting into a visceral metaphor for the violence faced by journalists and their families in Mexico.
